AGENDA OF GPVA SPECIAL MEETING ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20 2018

(Note: This special meeting will follow a different schedule than normal business meetings, serving as a summit on 2019 electoral strategizing similar to the Sep 2017 summit.)

INTRODUCTIONS (10 mins)

Brief introductions to introduce ourselves to new members and fortify GPVA camaraderie. Ratify the agenda and elect timekeeper and vibes-watcher.

REVIEW OF ISSUES (30 mins)

A wide range of issues will be important to Virginian voters, from the pipelines to rising healthcare costs. Review and discuss the issues for candidates to focus on.

HOW TO RUN/OPEN SEATS (45 mins)

Review of open seats in Virginia during the electoral season of 2019 and Department of Elections rules and procedures on becoming a candidate.

BREAK/NETWORKING PERIOD (30 mins)

Get up, stretch, and chat with fellow Virginia Greens.

PREVIOUS GPVA CAMPAIGN DEBRIEF (45 mins)

The GPVA has run candidates at levels from city council to Delegate. Previous candidates will talk about their campaign strategies and lessons learned.

GPVA CANDIDATE HANDBOOK (45 mins)

In the interest of providing as much support for any and all future candidates, ideas and lessons discussed may be condensed into a “handbook”, spearheaded by Press Secretary Ryan Wesdock
